Founded in 2013, Metro Scrap Metal was born out of a simple yet powerful vision shared by four brothers—Sam, Ack, Ji, and Webb Wehbe. Raised in Ottawa and deeply rooted in its working-class fabric, the Wehbe brothers grew up understanding the value of grit, resourcefulness, and integrity. Each of them brought a unique strength to the table—mechanical expertise, logistical insight, business strategy, and a passion for building something meaningful.
Before Metro Scrap Metal existed, the brothers had already been immersed in the world of heavy equipment, towing, recovery, and automotive services. They were no strangers to scrap—they had seen it discarded, mishandled, undervalued, and mispriced by others for years.
They knew Ottawa needed more than just another scrapyard. It needed a scrap hub built on transparency, fairness, and community trust.
And so, Metro Scrap Metal was launched with the opening of MSM West, located at 6776 Rothbourne Road—a wide, industrial plot that became the birthplace of a new standard in scrap metal recycling.
The yard started with basic equipment and big dreams. But from day one, the Wehbes focused on three things:
- Trust – Customers would be paid fairly, without games, gimmicks, or mystery weights.
- Access – Everyone from large contractors to the average homeowner could come in, be treated with respect, and walk away with cash in hand.
